CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston baseball (25-11, 18-2 MEC) completed the four-game sweep of the Glenville State Pioneers (10-26, 5-15 MEC) on Monday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
The Pioneers jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the first inning on Phillips single to right field, but the Golden Eagles answered in the bottom of the first with a three-run homer from Gianfranco Morello.
The Pioneers cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the second, but the Golden Eagles increased their lead to 7-2 with four runs scored in the bottom of the fourth.
The Golden Eagles went on a 5-2 run to close the final two innings to seal the 12-4 victory.
Colby Johnson went 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Nick Wilson and Morello totaled a combined six runs for UC.
Jacob Kaiser picked up win number six of the season after six innings of work.
GAME 2:
Just as in game one, Glenville jumped ahead in the top of the first. Charleston answered just as they had before as Jordan Bailey scored on Colby Johnson's triple to centerfield.
Andrue Hughart homered in the second to take the 2-1 lead over UC, but Charleston took back the lead in the fourth as Morello stole home, followed by singles from Hathaway and Cartt.
Jack Brunetti gave UC the 5-2 edge on a SAC fly that scored Johnson for UC's final run.
Jose Rodriguez moved to 2-7 on the year allowing all five runs by the Golden Eagles. Brunetti pitched six innings to also pick up win number six allowing GSC's only two runs of the game.
NEXT UP
The Golden Eagles are on the road for six straight games, starting with a trip to Salem, W.Va. to take on the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
