CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Golden Eagle men's tennis ran their current win streak to three matches following a 5-2 win over Davis & Elkins College at Schoenbaum Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
Charleston earned a 1-0 lead after taking two of three doubles courts with wins at No. 1 doubles from Tom Andrews and Joao Tayar followed by a convincing 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles by Ian Morrisson and Bryson Tye.
UC increased their lead to 3-0 as Tristen Shaw and Sam Bowman made easy work of their Senator opponents at No. 5 & 6 singles with the pair giving up just two games total in the four sets, Shaw winning 6-0, 6-0. Â Joao Tayar clinched the victory for Charleston moments later with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, to help UC grab their 10th win of the 2018-19 season.
Charleston hits the road for their final three regular season matches of the season before the start of the Mountain East Conference Tournament, beginning the first week of May.
