CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles split day two of games with the UVA-Wise Cavaliers going 2-2 in the 2019 series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
The pair of Gianfranco Morello and Colby Johnson combined for four hits to lead the Golden Eagles, while three Golden Eagles tallied RBI in the loss.
It was Morello who put the Golden Eagles giving Jordan Bailey the go ahead home. The Cavaliers took a 3-1 lead by the bottom of the third.
The Golden Eagles brought the score within one run on two other occasions but were unable to get an edge on the Cavaliers, falling in game one 7-6.
Dawson Cagle led the charge for the Cavaliers with three hits on three at bats, scoring two runs and one RBI in the win.
GAME 2:
Greg Duncan took the loss for the Cavaliers after allowing 10 hits in four innings before handing the ball off to Trevor Nevill.
Morello tabbed three RBI on two hits in game two, while Austin Hathaway went three-for-four, with two RBI and scored two runs to lead the Golden Eagles.
Hayden Carte tallied a pair of hits in the game while Brice Arrington also crossed home plate twice.
Charleston took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. After three frames UC held a 4-0 lead over the Cavaliers. The Golden Eagles held down the gas, tacking on four more runs before the bottom of the seventh to win 8-0.
Jack Brunetti picked up his seventh win of the season after 7.0 innings pitched, striking out five batters.

The Golden Eagles will be back a Triana Field on Saturday April 27 for the first two games of a four-game series with the Concord University Mountain Lions set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
