SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- University of Charleston men's tennis captured their fifth consecutive victory with a 5-1 match win over Shepherd University to close out the MEC regular season.

The Golden Eagles finish the Mountain East schedule with a 6-1 record with only blemish coming against West Virginia Wesleyan College.  Charleston, currently the 5th ranked team in the Atlantic Region, plays their regular season finale against West Chester University on Saturday afternoon.

UC will enter next week's Mountain East Conference Championship as the No. 2 seed.  This year's MEC Championship will return to Huntington, W.Va. on the campus of Marshall University to be played May 3-5.
