CHARLESTON, W.VA. –The Golden Eagles were unable to overtake the Notre Dame Falcons on Friday afternoon, falling 14-8, despite two goals each from Aryanna Jones and Brianna Rock.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles started the game against the Falcons off with momentum, as midfielder Peyton Harris successfully put Charleston up 1-0, with an assist from senior Samantha Youngman. However, the hosts answered back with 18:13 left to play, putting the score at 1-1. UC continued to work Notre Dame's defense, as they continued to go goal for goal until the half. The score was tied 4-4 heading into the half, as UC saw three more goals from Aryanna Jones, Youngman, and Abby McGowan.
Notre Dame came out after the half ready to go, scoring nine goals in a row to put Charleston down 13-4 with 12:18 left. UC worked to gain offensive energy, using Jones to successfully slip one past the Falcon keeper, making the gap between the teams 13-5. Brianna Rock and Emma Renda then used their skill to score three more goals for Charleston (Rock 2, Renda 1), putting the score at 13-8 with 3:10 left to play. These goas were not enough to lift the Golden Eagles past the Falcons, falling 14-8 on the day.
