WHEELING, W.VA. –Charleston was unable to push past the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, falling 13-12 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of play started off well for Charleston, as senior Brianna Rock shot and scored, putting UC up 1-0 with 28:16 left. Less than eight minutes later, the hosts made the game even at 1-1, but Aryanna Jones answered back, giving the Golden Eagles a 2-1 edge. Jones then scored two more, helping Charleston take a 4-1 lead with 18:42 left until the half. Four Jesuit goals changed the pace of the game, as the Cardinals led 5-4. Peyton Harris and Brianna Rock each successfully scored a free position shot, giving UC a 6-5 lead with less than 10 minutes to play. Three more goals from UC (Renda: 2, Rock: 1), gave UC a 9-8 lead entering into half time.
Charleston's freshman attacker Colleen Ryan started the second half with a goal for the Golden Eagles, taking a 10-8 lead with 26:05 until the end of the game. The game continued to go back and forth between the two sides, but the Golden Eagles were not able to top the hosts, falling 13-12. Charleston saw two goals from senior Samantha Youngman in the second half.
