CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles (20-10, 14-2 MEC) completed the four-game series with a sweep of the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats (14-19, 7-9 MEC) in MEC play on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Jacob Kaiser picked up win number four of the season after four innings and retiring 20 batters. Jordan Peck closed the game out for the Golden Eagles only allowing two hits and one run.
Jack Brunetti put the Golden Eagles on the board first with a single to centerfield that brought in the Golden Eagles first run. Brunetti led UC from the plate going 3-for-4. Jordan Bailey, and Gianfranco Morello each tallied two hits apiece for UC.
By the fourth inning the Golden Eagles posted a 3-1 lead over the Bobcats. In the top of the fifth the Golden Eagles took a 4-1 lead as Morello scored on a double by Brice Arrington.
Arrington batted in his second run in the top of the seventh on a SAC fly that scored Morello again.
Down 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh Kiser doubled to score the Bobcats second and final run of the game.
Rotarius took the loss after six innings. The righty gave up 11 this and four runs before Mcleod came in for relief.
GAME 2:
Brunetti, pitched a complete game for the Golden Eagles, only giving up three runs on 10 hits. The senior improved 5-1 on the season.
Johnson, Arrington, and Boddorf each tallied two hits apiece for the Golden Eagles, with Johnson leading the charge knocking in four runs in the win. Boddorf contributed two RBI wile Nick Wilson tacked on a run for UC.
Charleston held onto a four-run lead, until the bottom of the sixth when Renner hit a homerun to put the Bobcats within two runs. A single from Kiser batted in the third run for WVWC bringing the score to 4-3.
In the top of the seventh a three RBI homer from Colby Johnson sealed the victory for UC.
The Bobcats starter, Castello took the loss, moving to 3-2 on the season.
