WEST CHESTER, PA – The No. 6 Seed Golden Eagles took a 3-1 victory over the West Chester Golden Rams in Game 3 of the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament, eliminating the No. 2 seed Rams from competition. With the win, the Golden Eagles will face the Gannon University Golden Knights in the battle for the Atlantic Region II Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Three Golden Eagles tallied a hit in the victory, Jordan Bailey led on a 1-for-3 performance, with the game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to boost the Golden Eagles over their opponents.
Austin Hathaway opened the scoring for UC leading off with a solo home run to give Charleston the 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Gianfranco Morello tabbed a hit in the victory.
The Golden Rams tallied 11 hits in the loss with Jared Melone earning the lone RBI for West Chester.
After the Golden Eagles led off with a homerun to take the lead in the bottom of the first, the two teams saw four scoreless innings before West Chester got on the board.
The two teams were deadlocked with one run each after seven innings. Finally, in the bottom of the eighth with two outs and a runner on first, Jordan Bailey nailed a two-run homer to right field giving the Golden Eagles the 3-1 lead.
Jacob Kaiser picked up win number nine of the season, after 3.0 innings of work. Brandon Harris got the start for the Golden Eagles, allowing nine hits, and just one run in the victory.
