CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles swept the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets in the first two games of a four-game series with their cross-town rivals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Austin Henrich got the complete game win, striking out 10 batters.
Hayden Cartt and Derek Dudek each tallied two hits while Cartt notched three RBI to lead UC. Six other Golden Eagles tallied hits in the victory and combined for six RBI.
The Yellow Jackets jumped ahead to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, before Hayden Cartt nailed a three RBI homer in the bottom of the second to take the lead.
In the bottom of the third, Gianfranco Morello tripled down the right field line scoring Colby Johnson. Charleston posted a two-run lead after the Jackets scored on a double in the top of the fifth, but Charleston would tack on five additional runs to seal the 10-3 win.
GAME 2:
After Brandon Harris saw five frames of work, he passed the ball off to Robert Fultineer who picked up the victory for the Golden Eagles in 1.1 innings.
Redshirt freshman, Jordan Bailey went 2-for-2 from the plate with two RBI, and two runs scored. Senior right fielder, Brice Arrington knocked in two runs on one hit for UC.
The Golden Eagles took a 4-0 lead before the top of the fifth inning, but the Yellow Jacket offense surged in the fifth inning to tie the game up as Andrew Stone scored on a pass ball.
The Golden Eagles took back the lead in the bottom of the sixth as Hayden Cartt scored on a single from Jordan Bailey.
Charleston sealed the win as Brice Arrington hit a triple that knocked in a pair of runs for the 7-4 win.

The Golden Eagles will head to Institute on Sunday to take on the Yellow Jackets in a double head her set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
