ERIE, PA – The last time UC played against Mercyhurst the Golden Eagles lost 2-5. Charleston has not beaten Mercyhurst since February, 2012. Adam Malouf and Jason Prince were two key players for the Golden Eagles last match up, and contributed points to this years match up as well.
UC didn't have great start by losing the first double, but fought back hard to secure that point with the second and third pair.
Ben Lakeman had a very impressive match against Cormac Mccooey. Mccooey put up a fight in the first set, but Lakeman was able to finish strong. His teammate Adam Malouf was the other only Golden Eagle to win their set. Malouf and Arseniy Sklyarov had quit the battle. Sklyarov forced Malouf to 7 in the first set, and then defeated him in the second set 6-4. Malouf fought back and took the last set 6-2.
Up next the Golden Eagles will travel to Orlando, FL. to play in a tournament.
