Charleston, W.Va- Sage Bearnson of The University of Charleston's Women's volleyball team became the first UC Volleyball All Region selection since 2007.

Bearnson was selected by the AVCA to the Atlantic Region All Region team as an honorable mention. This is the first AVCA All Atlantic Region awarded to UC since 1999, and just the seventh in UC history.Â

Bearnson, a sophomore from Highland Utah, led the Golden Eagles with 118 kills and was ranked third in the MEC in total kills. She had an average of 3.62 kills per set and added 44 aces, which placed her at number 2 in the MEC for that stat. She had an NCAA record of 34 kills in a single match against Fairmont State in the first round of the Mountain East Conference Tournament on November 18, 2021. She led the Golden Eagles in points with 493, and was ranked second in the MEC for points.

Her season highs include, 34 kills vs Fairmont State on 11/18/21, 36 points vs Fairmont State on 11/18, 19 digs vs Fairmont State on 11/18/21, and 5 service aces against Southwest Baptist on 9/04/21.
