Men's Basketball Notches 11th Straight Victory with 109-74 Win Over Senators

CHARLESTON, W. Va.  – Five Golden Eagles notched double-digits as No. 20 Charleston downed the Davis & Elkins Senators 109-74 in the Wehrle Innovation Center. With the win Charleston has notched 11-straight victories.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Freshman Shunta Wilson notched a season high 20 points in the contest. Wilson went 9-for-11 from the field, while notching seven rebounds.  
 
Keith Williams knocked down 4-of-5 from behind the arc, scoring 18 points for the Golden Eagles, while Isaiah Gable notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Gables points all came from behind the arc as the senior went 5-of-8 from the three-point line.  

Lamont McManus and Eddie Colbert combined for 26 for the Golden Eagles in the win.  
 
In the first half the Golden Eagles offense surged as Charleston went 9-for-13 from three-point land early. The Golden Eagles also hammered the board scoring 11 of their 17 second chance points in the first frame. Charleston shot an impressive 69.4 percent from the field to head into the break with the 63-33 lead over the Senators.  
 
The start of the second half saw a similar pace to the contest's opening frame, Gable opened up the scoring for the Golden Eagles with a three in the first possession. Charleston kept on the attack increasing their lead to 31-points after Tyler Eberhart converted two from the free-throw line. With three minutes to play Wilson sealed his career night with a dunk to put the Golden Eagles up 102-72, but it was freshman Cameron Marks who gave Charleston their largest lead of 37-points after he drove the lane for the bucket.  
 
Charleston came away with the 35-point victory, making it the Golden Eagles 11th straight victory.
