CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY – The University of Charleston Men's Tennis team dropped their season opener on Saturday, falling to Division I Northern Kentucky 7-0. The Golden Eagles were led by
John Giesberts, who took his match in 1
st singles to a competitive straight sets defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles took the court with a very new group from a year ago, as each player was making their Charleston debut.
Doubles play was very close for the Golden Eagles, as high energy and fast-paced games created a competitive environment for both teams. In doubles, UC lost 4-6 (1
st doubles), 6-7 (second), and 5-7 (third).
On the singles side, Charleston was led by Giesberts in the one position, who battled hard but fell in a tight two sets. The match was highlighted by
Jake Magill and
Krish Patel taking their first ever collegiate matches to super tiebreakers.
