CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Tennis team remained perfect in conference play (2-0) with a 7-0 win over the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets on Senior Day.
Charleston won the doubles point quickly with 6-0 wins by both the first and second doubles teams. The lone senor on the team,
Michael Phillips, partnered with
Jack Bowman and won number three doubles 6-4.
In singles,
Frantisek Pirek finished first with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number 3 singles. Likewise, Bowman made quick of work of his opponent at 5
th singles by the same score of 6-0, 6-0. It was Phillips with the clinching match at number 6 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
Man of the match was Pirek, who didn't drop a game in singles or doubles while Phillips extended his dual match win streak to 12-0 for his career as a Golden Eagle.
Next up for the Golden Eagles is top ranked Regional Opponent Bluefield State University on Friday with matches set for 2:00 PM
