CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Lacrosse program (1-3, 0-1 MEC) dropped their MEC opener on Wednesday evening to the Senators from Davis & Elkins, falling 15-11.
Tess Yuhas led the offense for Charleston, finishing the game with four goals and a pair of assists while
Renee Gering scored a trio of goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
It was the Golden Eagles who got the rhythm going early, as Charleston notched three goals in the first ten minutes of the contest from three different players to take an early 3-0 lead.
After Taylor Baker got the Senators on the board at 18:13 remaining in the half,
Colleen Ryan answered the call with a goal of her own to put Charleston ahead 4-1.
From there, it was all Davis & Elkins, who went on to score six unanswered goals to regain the lead at 7-4 with 6:12 remaining in the half. Over the next minute and a half, the Golden Eagles were able to notch a pair of goals to bring their deficit to just one, but it was the Senators who would finish the scoring for the half and take a 8-6 lead into the break.
In the second half, it was the Senators who outscored the Golden Eagles 7-5 and went on to win the game 15-11.
Goalkeeper
Georgia Ryan collected four saves while allowing 15 goals playing all 60 minutes of the contest. For the Senators, it was Marissa Cuevas who collected 10 saves while allowing 11 goals.
