How it Happened
  • The Golden Eagles jumped on the board in the first inning after Tyler Dellerman doubled through the left side to bring home Bryce Toussaint. The very next at-bat, JR Heavilin brought home Dellerman on a single up the middle which gave Charleston starting pitcher Logan Campbell quick run support on his way out to the mound.
  • Campbell let up a pair of runs in the bottom half, which allowed the Senators to tie the game after Najay King connected on a two-run home run.
  • From there, it was all Charleston, as the Golden Eagles scored runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.
  • In the third, Drew Hefner brought home Colby Johnson on an RBI groundout to give Charleston the lead back at 3-2.
  • In the fifth, Hefner reached on an error which allowed Hayden Cartt to come around to score.
  • In the sixth, Braxton Boddorf singled to left centerfield to bring home Heavilin before Johnson capped the scoring with an RBI single to left centerfield which brought home Griffin Adkins.
  • Campbell went the distance for the Golden Eagles, logging 7.0 innings while allowing two runs on four hits. Campbell walked two and struck out 12, increasing his strikeout total to 66 on the season. He currently sits 21 strikeouts behind teammate Austin Henrich (2019) for most strikeouts in a season in Charleston history.

How it Happened
  • Charleston was able to work four first inning walks on their way to taking an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. After Boddorf walked home a run, William Glazebrook then brought home Dellerman on a sacrifice fly to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead. The scoring ended in the first after Andrew Berry scored on a first-and-third rundown to end the inning.
  • Charleston starting pitcher Colt Webb had a similar look to Campbell from game one, as the only blemish against his line score was home run in the bottom of the first which cut the Golden Eagle lead to 3-1.
  • In the second inning, Toussaint singled down the leftfield line which brought around Mitchell Vincent to put Charleston ahead 4-1 which forced Senator starter Jeremy Torres from the game. The Golden Eagles plated one more in the second after Andrew Berry walked home Toussaint to put Charleston ahead 5-1.
  • The Golden Eagles went on to score six runs in the fourth inning on hits from Glazebrook, as well as a two-RBI single from Vincent. Cartt brought home Vincent on a sacrifice fly while Johnson scored on a balk as the Golden Eagles carried a 11-1 lead into the 5th.
  • In the 6th, JD Armstrong recorded his first career hit as a Golden Eagle, bringing home Toussaint on the play to increase the lead to 12-1.
  • Charleston plated three more in the seventh as Jesse Elliott reached on an error which brought home Filip Smola, and Eric Chartier, who in his first game in over a month, crushed a two-run home run which capped the scoring and gave Charleston a 15-1 victory.
  • The Golden Eagles worked 14 walks in the game, coupled with six Senator errors.
  • Webb finished the day with a final line of 5.0 IP, allowing one run on two hits while walking three and striking out seven.
  • Owen MacNeil came on in relief of Webb and went a 1.0 IP, allowing one walk while striking out a batter.
  • Robby Shepherd made his collegiate debut on the mound for the Golden Eagles, pitching a perfect seventh inning while recording a pair of strikeouts.
