HOW IT HAPPENED:
Avenging a 20-7 defeat at Frostburg State on April 3rd, the Golden Eagles started quick out of the gate, taking a 3-2 lead just under seven minutes into the game. After the Bobcats tied the game, Charleston would take the lead at 4-3 on a goal from Kayleigh Burns before four straight goals from Frostburg State gave the visitors a 7-4 lead at the halfway mark in the opening frame.

Back-to-back goals in a 15-second span from Colleen Ryan and Burns allowed the Golden Eagles to narrow the deficit, but the Bobcats would go on to score five of the next seven goals to carry a 12-8 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Golden Eagles came out of the locker room with a sense of urgency on the defensive end and held the Bobcats off the board for the first 24 minutes of the half. The Golden Eagles tied the game after Burns found the back of the net just eight minutes into the half, as part of a 9-0 Golden Eagles run which eventually gave the home team a 17-12 advantage.

Over the final six minutes of the game, the Bobcats were able to make things interesting by putting three on the board, but time ran out on Frostburg State as the Golden Eagles took a 17-15 win on Senior Day.

Georgia Ryan finished the game with 11 saves in net for the Golden Eagles, increasing her total to 90 for the season.
