Lacrosse Falls to Frostburg State on Saturday Afternoon

Frostburg, Md. – The University of Charleston Lacrosse team (2-5, 1-3 MEC) dropped their Saturday afternoon contest 20-7 to the Bobcats of Frostburg State. Destiny Jackson led the offense for the Golden Eagles, notching three goals in the game. The Bobcats used two stretches of goals in the first half to seal the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
Erin Bryce got the Bobcats started in the first half, putting Frostburg State ahead 1-0 at the 25:11 mark to begin the scoring. After Gianni Blundell tied the game at 1-1 just two minutes later, the Bobcats surged for four unanswered goals over a four-minute span to take a 5-1 lead.
 
Elishia Davis broke the Bobcat scoring streak after the graduate attack notched a goal with 9:15 remaining in the half to cut the Frostburg lead to 5-2.
 
From there, it was all Frostburg State, as the home team produced five more unanswered goals over a two-and-a-half-minute span to increase their lead to eight, leading 10-2.
 
The first half concluded with Destiny Jackson scoring a pair of goals, as did the Bobcats as they took a 12-4 lead into the break.
 
In the second half, the Bobcats outscored the Golden Eagles 8-3, including a five goal stretch from the 21:18 to 8:51 to take home a 20-7 win.

Charleston goalkeeper Georgia Ryan finished the game with six saves while Bobcat keeper Whitney Crosby finished the game with ten.
  

UP NEXT: 
Charleston will return to the Welch Athletic Complex on April 8th to take on the Bobcats from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
