Box Score BECKLEY, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Baseball team dropped their evening matchup to the Mountain Lions from Concord University on day two of the MEC Tournament. The Mountain Lions took advantage of five Golden Eagle errors on their way to the 7-2 win.

How it Happened
- The Mountain Lions got on the board in the second inning against Charleston starting pitcher Colt Webb after Chris Satcher brought home Rich Ortiz on a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.
- With the score remaining the same headed into the 5th, the Mountain Lions would go on to score five runs, forcing Webb from the game.
- Robert Fultineer would come on in relief of Webb who finished the game logging 4.0 IP, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out four.
- Charleston threatened in the top of the sixth after loading the bases with no outs but could only plate one against Concord starter Andrew Neff after Mitchell Vincent brought home Drew Hefner to cut the Concord lead to 6-1.
- In the bottom half of the inning, Concord plated another run on an RBI single to increase their lead to 7-1.
- Fultineer finished up the sixth inning as the fifth-year went on to pitch 2.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits while walking one and striking out two.
- Robby Shepherd would come on to pitch the seventh for Charleston to keep the score at 7-1.
- Charleston would put a pair in scoring position in the eighth, forcing Neff from the game, but Charleston would come up empty-handed.
- Shepherd would come out to pitch the bottom of the eighth, finishing the inning as the freshman went on to throw 2.0 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out two.
- Charleston would go on to score a run in the ninth on a pair of two-out hits from Colby Johnson and Bryce Toussaint to cut the deficit to 7-2 but Anthony Stehlin would close the door to end the threat.

Charleston will take on the Battlers from Alderson Broaddus in an elimination game scheduled for 12:00 PM. The winner of that game will go on to play Concord in the nightcap on Saturday.
