How it Happened
  • Wright State began the scoring in the bottom half of the second inning after Zane Harris scored on a sacrifice fly from Justin McConnell.
  • After a scoreless third, Charleston answered with a pair of runs to take their only lead of the game after Bryce Toussaint doubled home Tyler Dellerman on a ball to left field which was followed up by a dropped third strike that brought home Drew Hefner.
  • Charleston starting pitcher Austin Henrich's day ended after 3.0 innings on the hill, where the fifth-year allowed just one run on two hits while walking three and striking out one.
  • Colt Webb came on in relief of Henrich and allowed three runs, all unearned. The first two runs of the inning, which gave the Raiders the lead back, both came on wild pitches from Webb. The final run of the inning came on an RBI single which increased the Raider lead to 4-2.
  • Webb finished his day after one inning in relief, allowing three runs (all unearned) on two hits while walking two and striking out a pair.
  • Dane Sykes came on in relief to begin the 5th for the Golden Eagles, allowing a run in the inning after an RBI single which increased the Raider lead to 5-2.
  • In the seventh, another pair of unearned runs increased the Wright State lead to 7-2 and ended Sykes' day on the mound. He went 2.2 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits while walking two and striking out five.
  • Freddie Reams came on to record the final out of the 7th and worked around a walk to retire the Raiders.
  • The score remained the same heading into the bottom half of the eighth as Jacob Kaiser took the mound for Charleston. The first three batters of the inning would reach base for Wright State and they plated two on a sacrifice fly and a fielder's choice to take a 9-2 lead, one that would hold.
