HOW IT HAPPENED
Charleston looked to bounce back after their afternoon defeat at the hands of West Florida. They would go on to make swift work of the Mount Olive Trojans, winning in straight sets.
The first set was dominated by a hungry Charleston team that was eager to put their previous loss behind them. The vengeance taken by the Golden Eagles was swift as they would go on to dominate the Trojans. The final point of the set came off a service ace by sophomore McKenzie Damon.
The second set was closer but still dominated by UC. The Golden Eagles offensive pressure was back to normal after an unsteady previous game. There were no shortage of kills by a variety of different players in the game as Coach Tyler Kanelos looked to involve some younger players. With the game steadily in hand the Golden Eagles would continue their rout by winning seven of the final eleven points in the set. Final score: Charleston 25 Mount Olive 16.
UC would wrap up the match by cruising to a 25-22 victory after some trouble late in the set. Charleston bounced back to defeat the Trojans in straight sets after falling to West Florida just a few hours before. On the weekend the Golden Eagles would go 3-1 and improve their record to 8-4.
