Golden Eagles Use Early Lead to Defeat Bloomsburg on the Road

Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Charleston men's basketball team defeated the Huskies of Bloomsburg University with a final score of 96-62 in a non-conference Wednesday night game on the road.
 
The Basics:

How it Happened:
The first five minutes of the contest were fairly even matched as both teams traded baskets back and forth heading into the first media timeout with a score of 8-8. Following the media timeout Charleston went on a nine-point run headed by Eddie Colbert III who had six of those points.
 
Charleston continued to stretch their early lead for the remainder of the half, heading into the locker room up by twenty-three points.
 
The second half was much of the same as Charleston maintained a twenty plus point lead for the entire second half, finishing the game with a thirty-four-point lead and a final score of 96-62.
 
The Golden Eagles had six players finish in double figures with the scoring being led by Shunta Wilson with twenty-one points on the evening. Jeremiah Keene was close behind with seventeen points followed by Eddie Colbert III with sixteen, Tyler Eberhart with fourteen, Keith Williams with thirteen, and Keaton Turner with eleven.
 
Charleston was 39-for-65, shooting 60% from the field in comparison to Bloomsburg who was only 27-for-68 shooting about 40% on the night. Charleston was able to capitalize eleven points off Huskie turnovers compared to two points for Bloomsburg.
 
Eleven Golden Eagles saw the court with thirty-six of Charleston's points coming off the bench, including the twenty-one from Shunta Wilson.
 
Up Next:
Charleston will take a small break for the Holiday's and open the new year at home on January 4th at 7:30PM against the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan College in an MEC doubleheader.
