MTEN: Golden Eagles trap Timberwolves 6-1

Orlando, Fl.- Charleston downs Northwood University 6-1 in the Saturday afternoon matchup.  

The Basics:

How it Happened:
For the seventh time in as many attempts the Men's tennis team won the doubles point. The Charleston men's team swept all three doubles matches decisively by scores of 6-4, 6-1 and 6-1.

Drew Dagostine quickly added to the lead over Northwoods with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at number 3 singles. John Giesberts extended the lead to 3-0 at second singles and it was Dani Llorente with the clinching match at first singles by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 10-2. Krish Patel went the distance at number singles winning 4-6, 6-1, 15-13. Freshman Jowan Rawson grabbed the sixth point with a 6-1, 7-5 win at number 6 singles.

Man of the match goes to Krish Patel for winning his doubles match 6-1 and fighting off four match points in route to his 15-13 super breaker win.

Of the match Senior Drew Dagostine said "We learned a lot from our tough lost yesterday and brought those lessons learned into today's win. I also thought the players on the court got great support from their teammates off the court."

Coach Matt Santen said "I thought our mental preparation and overcoming adversity was really good today. On top of that we were able to bring great intensity from the first point to the last."
