Charleston, W. Va.- Women's Lacrosse took on the Falcons of Notre Dame at home on Thursday, April 7 at the Welch Athletic Complex. They were able to cut the lead to as close as one goal before ultimately were defeated by nine goals.

How it Happened:
The Notre Dame Falcons made three unanswered goals in the first quarter against the Charleston Golden Eagles. Junior, Georgia Ryan, made five big saves for the Eagles to keep the deficit small.
In the second quarter, Notre Dame put up a quick goal, but was answered shortly with a goal by Freshman, Sophia Conzone. Conzone would go on to make three more goals in the second quarter for the Eagles. Senior, Kayleigh Burns, also put a goal up in the 2
nd allowing the Eagles to trail only 7 to 5 at the half.
In the second half, the Falcons continued to press hard against the Eagle's defense scoring 4 more goals in the third quarter; while, Burns and Conzone, and Junior, Destiny Jackson, each put up one goal each for the Eagles third.
The Falcons took control in the final quarter allowing only five shots for the Eagle's offense. After six unanswered goals, Conzone was able to take advantage of a free position shot to give the Eagle's their final goal of the game.
Overall, Ryan made 10 saves and a control turnover for the Eagles; while, Sophomore, Gianni Blundell, lead the midfield with 9 draw controls and 3 ground ball pickups. Conzone continued to lead the offense with six goals in only ten shots.
