MTEN: Charleston Sweeps Davis and Elkins to Improve to 4-0 in MEC Play

Charleston, W.Va.- The Charleston men's tennis team defeat Davis and Elkins at home with a clean sweep, 7-0.

The Basics:
Location: Schoenbaum Tennis Courts
Score: UC 7, D&E 0
Records: UC 15-2 (4-0 MEC), Davis and Elkins 3-2 (1-1 MEC)

How it Happened:
The Charleston Golden Eagles had a solid win over the Davis & Elkins Senators by a score of 7-0. Charleston took the doubles point winning both first and second doubles by a score of 6-2 while dropping third doubles by the same score.

Krish Patel struck first at number 4 singles with a 6-0 6-0 win. John Giesberts added the third point with a 6-3, 6-0 win at number 2 singles. It was Lenny Stevens who provide the clinch point at 5th singles with a 6-4, 6-1. Rounding out the sweep were Llorente (#1), Dagostine (#3) and Hiedleberger (#6).

Man of the match goes to Krish Patel who only dropped 2 games on the entire day.

Coach Sam Clarke said "Great job getting the sweep today. D & E fought hard but we were tough at every position."

Up Next:
Charleston will play two matches on Saturday, April 16th. The first match of the day will be against Frostburg at noon. That match will be followed up with Millersville at 3 pm.
