CHARLESTON, W.Va- Owen MacNeil was named the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week on the final week of the regular season. This is his first career selection as MEC Pitcher of the Week and marks the second time this season that the Golden Eagles have had a pitcher named MEC Pitcher of the Week.

In a Monday afternoon contest against rival West Virginia State University the Georgetown, Ontario native shoved. He faced 21 Yellow Jacket hitters in his outing and retired 20 of them. The lone hit came from the bat of Andrew Stone in the third inning. He struck out 10 and walked none in the effort while throwing just 76 pitches through 6.0 innings of work. The Golden Eagles would combine for a shutout as reliever Daniel Kanagy came in to close the door in the 7
th.

On the season MacNeil has a 6-2 record and a 3.73 ERA, with the latter being third best on the team. He has recorded 48 strikeouts in 41.0 innings of work to the tune of a team best 1.17 WHIP. He will likely get the nod on Thursday in the MEC Tournament against Notre Dame College.
