CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Golden Eagles looked to keep their unbeaten conference record alive as they battled the Senators from Davis and Elkins.

How It Happened
The Golden Eagles once again got off to a fast start, winning the tightly contested first set 25-22 after the match started with a Senator attack error. After two more attack errors, McKenzie Damon jump started the match with her first kill of the night. Charleston extended its advantage with two more kills from Damon. D&E tied the match up at 7-7 with a service ace, however, could not take the lead from the Golden Eagles.
UC would continue the momentum into set two, taking it 25-22 again. Davis & Elkins would get the first two points of the set on the board with a kill and a service ace. 13 total kills in the set were made from Pia Selke, Reagan McLean, McKenzie Carpenter, Sage Bearnson, and McKenzie Damon. The second set was close but ended on another kill by Damon to secure the Golden Eagles second set win.
The Senators would fight back to take the third set, 25-21 and force a fourth set. It was not looking good for the Golden Eagles as they could not recover once Davis & Elkins took the lead.
UC would reverse the momentum in set four and go on to take the final set 25-17, once again on a kill by Damon. The Golden Eagles blitzed past the Senators in the fourth set with a hitting percentage of .243, compared to Davis and Elkin's .091. Selke deposited four kills, while Carpenter had three. McLean and Damon both had two kills apiece in the final set.
Damon led the offense with 18 kills, followed by Bearnson with 11 kills. Maria Hernandez dished out 46 assists on offense. Defensively, Hernandez and Erin Carmody led the way, both with 19 digs. Morgan Walter charted 17 digs.
