FROSTBURG, Md.—University of Charleston Men's Basketball (4-1, 3-0 MEC) takes down Frostburg State University (1-7, 1-2 MEC), defeating them 81-75 in the Bobcat Arena to remain perfect in conference play. Charleston's bench outscored Frostburg's 25-0 to aid in the victory with help from Obinna Ugwuakazi (13 points, 2 rebounds, 6-8 from the floor, 1-1 from three), CJ Meredith (5 points, 1 assist, 2-4 from the floor), Shunta Wilson (4 points, 1 assist) and Siri Blackwood (3 points, 1-4 from three).

The Basics:
Location: Frostburg, Md.
Score: 81-75 UCWV

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles started the game off slow, as the Bobcats won the tip off and collected the first two points of the game on free throws. Charleston would answer back with a layup by Eddie Colbert III to even the score, but a Frostburg jump shot and steal propelled the Bobcats forward and swung the momentum in their favor. The Golden Eagles trailed closely behind the Bobcats until they evened the score and pulled ahead 43-40 on two shots from behind the arc by Junior Tyler Eberhart with 41 seconds remaining in the half.

Charleston put the first two points up on the board in the second half on another Eberhart basket, but a Frostburg three-pointer knotted the score at 45. From there, the Golden Eagles responded with an Eberhart dunk followed by a Ugwuakazi trey and layup to put UC ahead 52-45. The Bobcats slowly started to gain on the Golden Eagles, eventually cutting the lead to just three, but a Keaton Turner layup and free throw put Charleston out in front again. The teams traded baskets until Frostburg managed to tie the score at 64 on a string of layups, which led to a tug-of-war for the rest of the game. After some time, the Golden Eagles reclaimed the lead on a layup by Colbert III with just a minute-and-a-half remaining on the clock. UC closed out the half with two free throws by Wilson to give them the 81-75 victory over Frostburg State University.

Eddie Colbert III led the Golden Eagles offense, shooting 8-12 from the floor and 2-5 from three with an assist and six rebounds. The defense was led by Tyler Eberhart with two steals, a block and no personal fouls. He also played a key role in the offense with 17 points, two assists, four rebounds and a field goal percentage of 0.778.
