Buckhannon, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles outscored the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan 84-53 in the Wednesday evening victory.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles entered the contest with a 12-4 Mountain East Conference record while the Bobcats held a 2-14 record. Charleston started the match explosive on offense, opening with a 15-4 lead over the Bobcats while shooting 6-7 from the field. The Bobcats showed some fight, knocking down several shots, but the Golden Eagle offense did not let up, leading by eleven, 27-16, with under ten to go in the first half. Charleston stayed hot, extending their lead to twenty-one heading into the locker room up 44-23.
Tyler Eberhart knocked down ten points in the first half to accompany the teams 56.67% shooting percentage.
The Bobcats opened the second half with six unanswered points shortening the gap to fifteen, but Charleston's Keith Williams responded with six points of his own. Both teams traded several buckets, but at the under ten media timeout the Bobcats still trailed by twenty.
If West Virginia Wesleyan had any hopes of bringing the game back within reach they needed to go on a big run, but Charleston quickly put the game out of reach when they went on 15-3 run. With about five minutes left to play Charleston lead by thirty-two, 75-43. The Golden Eagles cruised to the finish line with the remaining time, taking the victory by a final score of 84-53 over the Bobcats.
Four Golden Eagles put-up double-digit points on the contest with
Eddie Colbert III and
Shunta Wilson leading the offense with fourteen points each. Twelve of the sixteen Golden Eagles on the roster saw the court in the thirty-one-point victory.
