Calabash, NC – The women's golf team won their first tournament of the 2023 season at the Davis and Elkins Battle of Brunswick.
Beatrice Dietz was crowned individual champion of the tournament shooting 77 and 78 on Saturday and Sunday. Dietz started off the tournament hot, making birdies on three of the first nine holes on Saturday.
An 8:30 tee time on Sunday for
Dietz, she struggled to get going, bogeying four of her first eight holes. However she turned it around, carding a even par 36 on the front nine.
Three Golden Eagles finished tied for fourth in the tournament.
Iciar Canalejo,
Gabrielle Harrison, and
Victoria Witouski all shot 167 over two days.
Witouski bounced back from her opening round 86 to post an 81 and finish tied for fourth.
Overall, Charleston was 29 strokes ahead of second place Davis and Elkins and they were 77 over par in total.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action on March 18
th when they head to Glade Springs' Cobb Course for the Glade Springs Invite.
