Wheeling, W.Va.—University of Charleston softball started their week off strong with a sweep against Wheeling University, winning game one (11-0) and game two (18-11). UC had a total of 21 hits in game two, the most hits a team has ever collected in Head Coach Michelle Frew's 32 years of coaching. Isabella Andujar also had a memorable game two, as she now has the second most RBIs (8) scored in a single game by a Golden Eagle. She is also the first Golden Eagle to hit three home runs in a single game since 1977.

Brianna McCown (8-2) is credited with both wins. She kept the Cardinals scoreless in the five inning mercy rule in game one and had a total of ten strikeouts on the day.

Standout Players:
Hannah Rose (8-8, HR, double, 6 runs, 4 RBIs & 1 walk), Isabella Andujar(5-10, 3 HRs, double, 10 RBIs & 3 runs), Allysa Lake (5-9, 3 RBIs and 1 run) and Jeritza Montero (3-8, HR, double, 3 RBIs and 1 run)

Game 1: 11 UC, 0 WU (5 innings)
Continuing her success on the mound, McCown pitched a complete game shut out in game one. She only allowed one hit and had a total of seven strikeouts in five innings pitched. The Golden Eagles scored five runs in the second inning, four runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth inning to close out the UC scoring at 11 runs.

Standout Players:
Rose (3-3, 2 runs & 2 RBIs), Andujar (1-4, double & 2 RBIs), Lake (1-3, 1 double & two RBIs), Montero (2-4, 1 double & 2 RBIs), Brittny Ogg (1-2 two runs & 2 stolen bases) and Kaylee Hotchkiss (1-1 two walks, 3 runs & a stolen base)

Game 2: 18 UC, 11 WU
UC's offense remained hot in game two, scoring 18 runs off of 21 hits. Despite the early lead and hot hitting by Charleston, Wheeling was able to come from behind and take the lead (9-8) in the bottom of the sixth inning. This did not stop the Golden Eagles though, as Andujar smacked a three run home run to take back the lead and infuse life into the UC offense again. The Golden Eagles would then bat around, which led to a third, three-run home run for Andujar, her second home run in the inning.

Andujar went 4-6 with a total of three home runs, eight runs-batted-in and three runs scored, while Rose went 5-5 with a home run, a double, four runs scored, two runs-batted-in and a walk. Montero also had a home run of her own, going 1-4 with two runs-batted-in, two runs scored, and a walk.

Brianna McCown came in relief for Danielle Bauer in the bottom of the sixth inning, and was able to secure the win with three strikeouts in three innings pitched.

Brionna Bowman (1-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs & 1 walk), Lake (4-6, 1 run & 1 RBI), Morgan Hoppe (3-5 one run & 1 RBI) & Raegan West (2-3, 1 run, 1 RBI & 1 walk)
