How it Happened
Just a matter of seconds into the game, things took a turn for the worst for Charleston. Despite the great defense that Charleston has displayed in the last few matchups, Young Harris would score two goals in less than 15 seconds into the game from Mary Troyer and Ashlyn Fraley for an early 2-0 lead. The Mountain Lions would extend their lead four minutes later to 3-0 after a goal from Ella Hancock. The Golden Eagles would cut the scoreless streak and answer with three goals of their own, with two coming from Yuhas and a score from Madison Partridge to level play at 3-3. All three goals would be on the assist from Gianni Blundell who switched from midfield to attack in this matchup. The move from head coach Melanie Rizzotti appeared to work well early on. The Mountain Lions would find two goals before the horn sounded giving Young Harris a 5-3 lead going into the second quarter.

The captain Destiny Jackson would find the back of the net in the second quarter on a nice dish from Yuhas to get back to within one of the Mountain Lions. Darby Stolz would make her presence known as well as she took it herself to the crease and ripped a shot into the left corner to tie the game once again at 5-5. Yuhas would give Charleston their first lead of the game after her free position shot from deep range scorched past the Young Harris goalie with 4:35 remaining in the half. Stolz would also join in on the free position fun with a blazing shot of her own that would maintain the Charleston lead 7-6. With just over a minute left to play in the half, Madison Partridge would find Jackson wide open in front of the goal and Jackson's low shot underneath the goalie would give Charleston an 8-6 lead. The Golden Eagles would take an 8-7 lead into the locker room after conceding a Young Harris goal with seconds on the clock remaining.

Darby Stolz would open up the second half with an incredible play on a second-chance effort. Antonia Martinez's free position shot from a tough angle would be redirected into the air off the frame and Stolz would catch the ball in mid-air and throw a tomahawk into the net to extend the lead to 9-7. Ashlyn Fraley and Mary Troyer would score a goal each for the Mountain Lions to tie the game up at 9-9 with just over five minutes left to play in the quarter. Both sides were unable to break the tie in the third quarter and we would head to the fourth with a tied game.

Despite being triple teamed, Antonia Martinez would find Destiny Jackson cutting to the net and Jackson found her third goal of the game and gave Charleston a 10-9 advantage. Young Harris would proceed to take the game over, scoring four unanswered goals and holding the Golden Eagles to just one at the beginning of the quarter. The Mountain Lions would escape with the 13-10 victory over Charleston. Megan Liston finished the day with a very impressive 13 saves with 26 shots on goal.
