Intensity was the word of the day for the Golden Eagles win over the Fairmont Falcons.  With cheers heard after nearly every point on all three doubles courts, both team were looking to take the crucial doubles points. It would be Charleston prevailing on all three courts by scores of 6-4 (1st Doubles), 6-3, (2nd  Doubles), 6-4 (3rd Doubles)

In singles Charleston came charging out of the gate taking quick wins at 2nd singles (Garcia) and 6th singles (Stevens). From there both teams settled in the battle.  1st Single (Giesberts), 3rd singles (Rawson), 4th singles (Patrawala) all went into the third set.  Pinto at 5th singles played long hard points in every game. Battling fatigue and injury, he provided the clinch point by a score of 7-5, 7-6 (6). Rawson went on to win his match, while Farhan and Giesberts both lost in the third set.

The win puts Charleston squarely at the top of the regular season MEC standings.

"I was quite happy with the intensity and focus of our boys from the first ball to the last," said coach Alec Foote.

Man of the match goes to Marcelo Pinto for providing the clinch point.

Next up for the Golden Eagles are the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats.
