South Euclid, OH – The Golden Eagles hit the road on Thursday to take on the Notre Dame College Falcons for an MEC Women's Lacrosse matchup. The Falcons had previously won the 2022 MEC Women's Lacrosse title and always pose as a tough opponent for Charleston. The Golden Eagles were coming off a hard-fought loss to Frostburg State prior to this one.

How it Happened
The Falcons held the upper hand from start to finish in this one. They would open up the first quarter scoring seven unanswered goals and limiting Charleston to just four shots; none of their shots were on goal. The Falcons put seven of their nine shots on target on Megan Liston who was put under fire early on in the game. The Golden Eagles would also turn the ball over five times in just the first quarter, while the Falcons limited themselves to just two, earning every single ground ball of the period. Charleston, however, would gain more draw controls that Notre Dame in the first half. Destiny Jackson would put the Golden Eagles on the board in the second quarter with an unassisted goal, but the Falcons continued to roll and ended the half with three more goals to take an 11-1 lead into the locker room.

The Golden Eagles would find three goals from Tess Yuhas (2) and Antonia Martinez in the third period after the break in effort to chip away at the lead, but the Falcons would match every goal Charleston scored in the period to remain at a double-digit lead at home. In the fourth quarter, Darby Stolz would immediately find a goal just 39 seconds into the period off of the assist from Martinez, but this would be the final goal scored from the Golden Eagles in the rest of the contest. Notre Dame would go on to score six more goals in the end and Carlie Wilson's with seven seconds remaining would be the final goal of the day with Notre Dame getting the better of Charleston with the 20-5 win.
