Box Score 2 Charleston, W.Va. - Charleston (20-6; 14-3) splits today's doubleheader with Wesleyan, winning game one 2-1 and dropping game two 3-0.
Game One: 2 Charleston, 1 Wesleyan (10 innings)
The first game of the doubleheader was a pitching duel, but UC came out on top. Brianna McCown (13-2) sent eight Bobcats packing in ten innings pitched, while allowing only one run to score on eight hits and three walks.
UC was hitless until Brionna Bowman poked a ball into left field in the third inning. The super senior eventually swiped second and scored on two throwing errors, putting Charleston up 1-0. With only two hits to their name, the Golden Eagles secured the win in the tenth inning off a sacrifice fly by Raegan West. The winning run was scored by left fielder Rebekah Woody after she tagged up and out maneuvered the catcher at home plate.
Game Two: 3 Wesleyan, 0 Charleston
The Golden Eagles could not get the bats going in game two against the Bobcats, as they were shut out 3-0. Wesleyan collected one run in the top of the first and two more in the third to close out the scoring. Danielle Bauer (6-4) struck out two, while allowing five hits, two earned runs and a walk.

Charleston will look to redeem themselves next week, as they host West Virginia State University. The doubleheader will take place on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
