Bloomsburg, PA – Charleston would have a very successful weekend of tennis this past weekend as the Golden Eagles would take three titles at the ITA Division II Men's & Women's Atlantic Regional Championships.
Men's Singles
In the men's singles, it would be Jorge Perez leading the way for the Golden Eagles as he would take the title after his matchup with another Golden Eagle, Jowan Rawson in two sets (6-3, 6-4) in his 2023-2024 debut for Charleston. Throughout the tournament, Perez and Rawson would not drop a single set in five matches, until Perez would take the win in the title match with his doubles partner.
Men's Doubles
Perez and Rawson would continue their dominant play into the men's doubles segment of the tournament beating out opponents 24 games to just six allowed. They would face another team of Charleston Golden Eagles, Vicente Garcia and Omar Elsamahy in the final round and win by a score of 6-1. Garcia and Elsamahy had won their way into the final after a hard-fought semifinal round against Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini, taking the match 7-5.
Women's Singles
Prinkle Singh, the reliable veteran from Chandigarh, India, would take the Women's Singles title. In her path to the final round, she would only drop one set in the entire tournament. She would face Mercyhurst's Kayla Dean, the second seed in the tournament, who she faced in the ITA final in the previous year.
