CHARLESTON, W.Va.- University of Charleston Women's Volleyball dominated against West Virginia Wesleyan, as they defeated the Bobcats in straight sets.

How it Happened:
Senior Sage Bearnson's nine kills and four service aces led the Golden Eagles to a 25-14, 25-13 and 25-15 victory over Wesleyan today at the Wehrle Innovation Center.
Freshman Riley Hoff also had herself a night, as she had a career-high of 13 digs, two total blocks and two aces. Defensively, Chloe Fortner and Bearnson followed closely behind Hoff with Fortner collecting 10 digs and Bearnson collecting nine.
In set one, Charleston and Wesleyan traded sideouts until UC pulled ahead 9-6 on a kill by Hoff, Bobcat attack errors, and a kill, a three-point service run and a service ace by Bearnson. The Golden Eagles controlled the set the rest of the way with a service ace in a four-point service run by Hoff, two more attack errors by the Bobcats and kills by Bearnson, Reagan McLean and Pia Selke. Charleston secured set one 25-14 on a ball handling error by Wesleyan.
Set two was also a back-and-forth matchup, but the Golden Eagles took control of the set and pulled ahead 16-9 on five-point service run by sophomore Abby Avila, errors by the Bobcats and another kill by Hoff. Kills by Bearnson, McLean and Selke and service ace by Hoff concluded the set and secured the Golden Eagles the 25-13 victory in the second frame.
Charleston sealed the deal in the final set of the day, defeating Wesleyan 25-15 to give them the straight set victory. Bearnson collected two of her four kills in this frame, while junior Selke managed a 6-point service run.
