Ashley Stepp Steps in as New UC Cheerleading Coach

| By:

Charleston, W. Va.— The University of Charleston proudly welcomes Ashley Stepp as the new Head Cheerleading Coach.

Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Bren Steven says, "I am pleased to announce Ashley Stepp as the new leader of our cheerleading program. I am looking forward to having Coach Stepp as a member of our team, and I am confident that our cheerleaders will embrace her as their new leader."

Stepp is a North Carolina native who joined UC Athletics this past summer as the Assistant Cheer Coach. She has a lot of experience under her belt, as she competed as an All-Star cheerleader for 14 years. After her athletic career ended, Stepp purchased Beckley Gymnastics where she coached a successful All-Star Cheer team and a competitive gymnastics team for six years.

When asked about her new role, Stepp said, "I am very excited to get this season started and see the new heights this team can reach. We have an incredibly talented group of young women whom I believe have barely tapped into their potential and will be surprised at what all they can accomplish. I can't wait to guide this team and all future teams to success!"
