Charleston, W.Va. – Director of Athletics Dr. Bren Stevens announces Janette Dawson as the next Cheerleading Head Coach at the University of Charleston.

"Janette brings a unique combination of coaching experience with various middle and high school programs, extensive expertise as an Organizational Development Specialist, and a strong background in leadership development. These qualities make her an exceptional addition to our athletics department. I fully expect Coach Dawson to cultivate an inclusive team culture where every student-athlete feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. While she possesses exceptional technical knowledge and the ability to develop and refine athletic skills, what truly sets her apart is her commitment to developing the whole student-athlete. She understands that success extends beyond performance and emphasizes emotional intelligence, academic achievement, service to others, leadership, and program integrity.
