Charleston, W. Va – The University of Charleston is pleased to announce the hiring of Jaquie Brown who has been named the new head coach of Charleston's cheerleading program.
Previously teaching at John Adam's Middle School, Brown has spent her career in the classroom as a teacher in the Kanawha Valley for the last 38 years. Within those 38 years, Brown has built up her resume as a performance coach in the fields of speech, drama, and cheer, directing camps designed to enrich the skills of young performers in the Kanawha Valley area.
The Bob Jones University alum cheered in all of her secondary years of school and brings a great deal of experience to the Capital City. Brown also plans to be involved with the community youth Charleston with camps hosted by the Golden Eagles cheer squad.
When asked about her new role, Brown fired back with an energetic response.
"I'm very excited to be the new head cheer coach at the University of Charleston as I bring a lot of performance presentation expertise to the job. I look forward to working with the team members that each have strengths that will be combined to a form presentation that will represent UC spirit and pride in a wonderful package for each game!"
