BRIDGEPORT, W.Va.—The Mountain East Conference released its All-Academic Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll for fall sports today, and 180 University of Charleston student-athletes found their name atop the two lists. UC placed 103 student athletes on the All-Academic team and 77 student-athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
In order to make both lists, student-athletes must be a member of the active roster and present a grade-point average between 3.25 and 3.69 in the semester of their championship season. The All-MEC Academic Team is the highest academic honor for MEC student-athletes, as they must present a grade-point average of 3.70 or higher to claim a spot on the list. In order to qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a GPA between 3.25 and 3.69.
Sports included in the fall semester are: football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball. In total, the lists are comprised of 1,255 student-athletes, with more than half earning All-MEC honors in their respective sports.
