Greeneville, Tenn. – Golden Eagles sweep Tusculum Pioneers to close out road series in Tennessee.

How it Happened:
In the first set on Sunday afternoon, Charleston jumped out ahead of the Pioneers with an early 7-2 lead. After a much-needed Tusculum timeout, the Pioneers scored the next four points to take the set back within one. Charleston countered with a 6-1 run to regain their lead, 13-7. From there Charleston was in full control of the set and went on to comfortably win set one 25-16. The Golden Eagles had 13 kills in the set for .524 hitting percentage.
Set two of the match was close, despite Charleston's seven-point advantage at 14-7, both teams kept the match within reach. The Pioneers rallied behind several kills to bring the score within one, UC leading 18-17. The teams traded the next several points, but it was Charleston who closed out the close second set 25-22. With the set victory, Charleston led the match 2-0 heading into the third.
Charleston was dominant in the third set, taking an early 10-3 lead powered by a nine-point run. The Pioneers recorded the next two points, but Charleston responded with five consecutive points to take the ten-point advantage, 15-5. The Golden Eagles went on to win the set 25-15, completing the sweep over the Tusculum Pioneers.
Garret Schnitker had 18 kills in the three set match with a .556 hitting percentage. Cole Duncanson had three of Charleston's six aces.
