BUCKHANNON, W.Va.- The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball team secured their first conference win of the season with a 3-1 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on the road. Charleston fought through four hard-fought sets, winning 28-26, 22-25, 25-14, and 29-27. The match was characterized by intense rallies and multiple lead changes, especially in the opening and final sets.

The Basics:
Location: Rockefeller Center
Score: 3-1 (W, UCWV)

How it Happened:

A key factor in Charleston's victory was their dominance at the net, registering an impressive 19 total blocks compared to Wesleyan's 7. Reagan McLean played a pivotal role in this effort, contributing two block solos and nine block assists. Offensively, Pia Selke led the way with 13 kills and an outstanding .417 hitting percentage, helping to push the Golden Eagles past Wesleyan.

After narrowly taking the first set in extra points, Charleston faced a setback in the second set but regrouped to dominate the third with a commanding 25-14 win. In the final set, Charleston's resilience shone as they closed out the match in another close battle, winning 29-27.

This victory improved Charleston's overall record to 11-3 and 1-1 in Mountain East Conference (MEC) play. The Golden Eagles' defense stood strong, recording 58 digs and 19 total blocks. Charleston also showed their depth offensively, accumulating 43 kills over the four sets.
