Glenville, W.Va. – Charleston defeated the Glenville State Pioneers on the road to improve to 2-0 in the Mountain East Conference.

How it Happened:
The first half of play was fairly matched for the two squads, both teams shooting 40% from the field. The teams traded the lead eight times in the half, Glenville State holding it for nearly eight straight minutes. Despite trailing, the Golden Eagles did not deteriorate, eventually heading into the locker room at the half with a two-point advantage, Charleston leading 37-35.
After grabbing the lead to end the half, the Golden Eagles did not trail again for the remainder of the game. Charleston outscored the Pioneers in the second half 37-27, ultimately taking the victory 74-62.
Charleston had nine players see the court, eight of which scored in the contest. The Golden Eagles also had four players with double digit points, and two players earn double doubles. Obinna Ugwuakazi had 11 points and 11 rebounds while CJ Meredith had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
