ELKINS, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles volleyball team showcased their dominance on Monday evening, sweeping Davis & Elkins College in straight sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-21) at the McDonnell Center. The win improves Charleston's record to 22-6 overall and 10-2 in Mountain East Conference play.

How it Happened:
Charleston started strong, setting the tone with a .429 hitting percentage in the first set. Emma Shepherd led the attack with seven kills on a .462 hitting clip, and Patrycja Majos added her own efficient seven kills with a match-high .636 hitting percentage. The Golden Eagles capitalized on clean attacks and limited errors to secure the opening set 25-14.
In the second set, Charleston was even more relentless, holding Davis & Elkins to a -.031 hitting percentage. The Golden Eagles' defense was a key factor, with Riley Hoff contributing a team-high eight digs. Hoff also added two service aces, propelling Charleston to a commanding 25-9 victory.
The final set saw Davis & Elkins challenge Charleston, but strong performances from Pia Selke and Kate Strong helped the Golden Eagles close out the match. Charleston recorded 11 kills in the third set, maintaining control despite a tighter 25-21 finish.
Shepherd led the Golden Eagles with 9.5 points, bolstered by her all-around performance. Setter London Upchurch facilitated the offense with 16 assists, guiding Charleston to an impressive .390 team hitting percentage.
