Charleston, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles get back in the win column with an MEC victory over Wheeling. Charleston was led by freshman Ja'Corey Lipkins who posted a career high 42 points in the contest.

How it Happened:
Charleston won the tip and opened up the scoring with a layup from the seven-footer Zach Loveday. Both teams traded points, but the Golden Eagles drained three from deep in the early moments of the contest.
The Golden Eagles then fell behind and were trailing the Cardinals for the next several minutes of the match until Charleston evened the score at 33-33 with 7:58 left to play in the half. The Cardinals then went on another run, taking the lead once more, eventually ending the half with Charleston trailing 48-46.
As the second half of play started, the Golden Eagles continued to trail, eventually evening the score, 65-65, with just over thirteen minutes to play in the contest. Charleston then held the lead for the next five minutes after several baskets from the hot hand Ja'Corey Lipkins.
Charleston put up 20 points in the last five minutes of the game, pulling away with the lead from Wheeling, winning the contest 103-94.
Ja'Corey Lipkins had a stellar night with 42 points and Dwaine Jones contributed 14 assists in the Golden Eagle victory.
