In the second period, Brooke McNeal would level the score at 1-1 off the assist from Erin Synder, but the Golden Eagles would fire back with four consecutive goals to end the quarter. Gianni Blundell would find two goals in the quarter while Nicolette Lospitalier and Hannah Calvert found their first of the match. Charleston would take a 5-1 lead heading into the halftime break.

The Storm would have a better start offensively to the second half as they would find two goals back-to-back from McNeal on a powerplay and Madelyn Goodrich just over a minute later. The Golden Eagles would answer right back with two of their own. Slinkard found her second of the game at the 10:26 mark and Molly Bunker would put her name in the box score with her first of the day with 7:21 to go in the quarter. A minute later, another Lake Erie goal scored by Shannon Smith would be quickly matched and raised with Lospitalier and Blundell goals towards the end of the quarter. Lake Erie found two more goals in the midway stages of the period, but Lospitalier's fourth goal of the day at the 5:00 mark would be the final score for the remainder of the game as Charleston would find their first win of the year 14-6 over the Lake Erie Storm.

How it Happened
It would be Charleston scoring the opening goal in their match with Davenport on Sunday. Nicolette Lospitalier, who scored four goals in their previous game, would pick up right where she left off with an unassisted goal at the 12:46 mark of the game for the 1-0 lead. Davenport would find two quick goals from Mika Kulynych and Blakely Malpass to take the lead from Charleston heading into the second quarter. Darby Stolz would find a score in the opening stages of the period to level the game at 2-2 on an unassisted goal, but the Panthers would find another two goals from Alyssa Bird and Theadora Krueger to maintain their lead at 4-2. Lospitalier would keep her squad in the game, scoring yet another goal with just under five minutes left to play in the half. Goalkeeper Megan Liston would have a solid showing in the first half as she would save eight shots for the Golden Eagles. Davenport would take a 4-3 lead into the halftime break with plenty of lacrosse yet to be played.

Davenport would take the game over in the third quarter, scoring seven goals within the 15 minutes played. Maddy Haynes and Blakely Malpass would each have two goals in the quarter, while Charleston struggled offensively in the quarter. The Golden Eagles would find just two goals from Lospitalier and CJ Cook in the quarter. The biggest factor of the game was Davenport's ability to win the draw time and time again. Theadora Krueger would have a career day with 16 draw controls on the day, making it a tough day for the Charleston defense. The Panthers would win 21 draw controls total while the Golden Eagles would win just three. Charleston would find three goals in the closing stages of the game picking up momentum, but the comeback attempt would be erased after Gabby Basha's goal at the 1:20 mark in the quarter. Davenport would find their first win of the year 12-8 over the Golden Eagles on the road.
