Golden Eagles Fall to Golden Rams at Glenville Invitational

Box Score Glenville, W.Va. – Charleston falls to PSAC opponent West Chester 17-5 in the opening game of PSAC/MEC crossover tournament at Sue Morris Sports Complex.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles quickly fell 2-0 in the top of the first to the Golden Rams but cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning off an Eric Chartier double that scored Drew Klaserner. The Golden Rams responded in the top of the second with three more runs to make the score 5-1 West Chester.
 
In the bottom of the third Charleston plated two runs, one of a JD Armstrong sacrifice fly and the next off a West Chester wild pitch. The Golden Rams plated three more runs in the fourth and fifth inning, taking a compelling 8-3 lead. The Golden Eagles chipped away in the bottom of the fifth with a Casey Finck solo shot to cut the deficit to four, Charleston trailing 8-4.
 
The Golden Rams went to work in the seventh and eighth inning, plating nine more runs to take a 17-4 lead over the Golden Eagles. In the bottom of the eighth Charleston scored their final run of the game off a Hector Carreon-Herrera double, Charleston falling 17-5 to the Golden Rams.
