How it Happened:
Davis & Elkins started the game off with a layup to put them out in front of Charleston, but a three-pointer by Tyler Eberhart gave the Golden Eagles the lead and they never gave it back. The score was close until a seven-point run with a trey by Jones and baskets by Eberhart and DeAirius Barker broke it open, making it 12-6 in favor of UC. The Golden Eagles breezed through the half with triples by Colbert III, Eberhart (2), Jones (2), Wilson and CJ Meredith (3). As a team, they also shot an impressive .633 (19-30) from the field, .688 (11-16) from three and .750 (3-4) from the line. Charleston closed it out with a 52-29 advantage over D&E going into halftime.
The Golden Eagles continued their shooting clinic in the second half, as their field goal percentage continued to shine bright at .559 (19-34). Senior Colbert III started it off by draining a three to widen the gap to 26 points. Two of the three baskets that followed for UC were also triples by Eberhart and Barker. Charleston kept pouring it on throughout the half, and the Senators could not catch up. With two minutes and 16 seconds left on the clock, Obinna Ugwuakazi added insult to injury with a slam dunk to reach the 100-point mark for the Golden Eagles. The game ended on a three-pointer by Davis & Elkins to finalize the score at 100-58.
