Belmont, N.C. – Charleston fell to North Greenville on Friday afternoon on the Belmont Abbey campus. Charleston won the first set but then dropped the next three.

How it Happened:
After over a week off, the Golden Eagles took a minute to get their footing in Friday's match, falling 4-0 in the opening set to North Greenville. Charleston then picked things up and scored the next6 five to take the lead. The Golden Eagles cruised to a victory in the first set outscoring North Greenville 20-10, for the 25-14 victory. Charleston had 13 kills in the set and .296 hitting percentage, keeping North Greenville to a zero hitting percentage.
The next three sets of the match were back and forth, Charleston just falling short 25-21 in sets two and three. In set four the Golden Eagles had the lead late in the set, up 23-22, but the Charleston could not win consecutive points to close out the set and eventually fell 27-25.
Garret Schnitker led the offense with 18 kills and Max Nissen followed with 13 kills of his own. Paul Stommel had 34 assists, nine digs, and one block in the four set match.
